What is a Cooperative?
A cooperative preschool is managed by parents who desire a quality, early educational experience that they can share with their children. The preschool’s parent body manages the affairs of the preschool, keeping tuition costs low, and aids the teachers in class sessions on a rotating basis. The cooperative experience is beneficial to parents, children and the surrounding community. Parents have the ability to share in their child’s experience first-hand and learn alongside their child through community interactions with the teachers and parent body who all share their commitment to education. Each child benefits from developmentally appropriate activities through a play-based curriculum and shares that experience with their parents, creating special and lasting memories during this important period in their life.
